Politico.com: Obama’s MLK Moments

king1112

When President Barack Obama looks west across the national mall from the Capitol on Monday, his panorama will include the spot to the right where contractors are building the National Museum of African American History and Culture by the foot of the Washington Monument.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial will be to his left, obscured from sight but not from mind.

And, directly in front of him — across a sea of people who come to hear his second inaugural address — Obama will have a view of the Lincoln Memorial, the Doric tribute to the president Obama most identifies with and the backdrop for King’s most famous civil rights speech.

As he takes the oath of office on the federal holiday marking King’s birthday, Obama will place his left hand on a bible once owned by King, an explicit consecration of the often implicit connection between the most prominent leader of the civil rights movement and the first black president.

The comparison between the two men will be inescapable Monday, as will the debate over Obama’s treatment of the black community — a motif that has resurfaced again early in his second term over diversity in the upper ranks of his administration.

Barack Obama has been a decent president by the standards that are set by the establishment…

but there is no comparison whatsoever between him and Martin Luther King.

Martin Luther King Jr was a TRUE champion of the people. He wasnt servant of big business. MLK was a champion of human rights for all citizens.

I been reading some of MLKs writings and guess what?

He would be an enemy of this administration..

“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.”

“”The greatest purveyor of violence in the world today: my own Government…I cannot be silent.”

^this guy would be more hated than cornel west and tavis combined..

Imagine how much of a hater he would be? Alot black people would hate this guy today because his truth burns to the core and people do not like the truth when it clashes with their fantasy.

Anyway, I am sick to my stomach when I hear people comparing these two men..

There is no comparison. One is simply the current face of this crumbling empire

The other is a true champion of human beings across the world for all ages.. A modern day prophet in the mold of Jesus Christ himself.

He wasnt perfect, but he taught me that you must not only be prepared to KILL for what you believe in,…. But most importantly, you need to be prepared to lay down your life and DIE for what you believe in.

Yea SirSheed, MLK would be “Crab and Hater” #1 today.
Comparing Obama to MLK to date is like comparing is like comparing an iceberg to volcanic lava to those so enlightened.
    All The Best, Peter.
