One black woman says that black women are argumentative, loud and rude
by Tiara Kj Williams
When it comes to the image of the black woman, everyone has an opinion.
When inserting “The Black Woman” in a Google search, millions of articles, videos and pictures appeared. The perspectives are diverse, some uplift and celebrate the black woman, while other do not.
In some videos, you can learn about the accomplishments of black women in pursuit of higher education. It is a fact that black women are dominating college enrollment at every level. We are working hard and snagging upper level positions in every industry. There are countless facts about the strong black women who have literally changed the world from Oprah Winfrey to Sojourner Truth.
But obviously, when you seek you find the ratchet videos as well. The Love and Hip Hop, Atlanta Housewives types or negligent women that are teaching their children to smoke weed, and twerk. Somehow, this image overshadows the Oprah’s of the world and we are all categorized as various versions of NeNe Leaks. On these fronts the sentiment is that all black women are obnoxious and unmanageable.
In this video, a unidentified woman spends nearly eight minutes griping about her experiences with other black women. She talks about how rude, argumentative, disuniting, ghetto, and resistant the black woman can be.
She starts the video saying, “Why are black women so argumentative? We find any and everything to argue over except something constructive. In fact we don’t consider it a good time unless we have been arguing and fighting with someone over something.”
Throughout the video, it’s unclear if she’s including herself because she often shifts from “we” to “you.” She fails to say anything positive about black women. Unfortunately, this video is endorsed by the nearly twenty thousand shares and likes of people accepting these lop-sided generalizations to be true.
Yes, black women can be testy and candid, but can’t every woman? How does releasing a video like this contribute to repairing the relationship that we have with one another?
I would encourage this woman to consider the struggles of being a black woman before making useless blanket statements. It’s hard to be black, but especially hard to be a black woman. We fight many battles. There are issues of colorism, intolerance for black beauty in the media and constant rejection and degradation from our black men. Unfortunately, black men are not marrying their women at the rate of other ethnicities. Not to mention the lack there of, because millions of our men are over-crowding the penitentiaries. Finally, there are 72% of black children being raised in single parent homes.
If what you are saying is true, and all things have been considered, wouldn’t you be mad too?

People see what they want to see or what they have been conditioned to see or have had the opportunities to see. Don’t waste time trying to make anyone see life through your eyes.

If black women were not argumentative, loud and rude, people would take advantage of them. I was once agreeable, quiet and polite, and as a result, I was passed over for promotions. Fired from jobs for not standing up. I got taken advantage of in relationships. It wasn’t until I got argumentative, loud and rude that I was able to get anywhere. So sisters keep up the good work. Smile 🙂

Your Bible say in Galatians, that God Hates those who bring division among his people. Stop being divided and Woman and Man share the YIN/YANG of life and practice some selflessness, non materialistic attitudes and unconditional love for one another. The enemy wins using divide and conquer techniques and since LBJ that has been the MO. In the Spirit of our Great fore mothers and forefathers and the great Kings and Queens of all of our great societies of the world, Stop with the madness!! One for all, and all for one!! A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so black folks need to strengthen the male and female part of the chain, or we all will be fourth class citizens around the world and our kids will continue to suffer. I do not subscribe to idol chatter, we seek a higher plane of existence, you all should too… Subeck Hotep, Amen Ra….

@Sargento…There is a wise quote from the Ancients that says ” Real friends greet each other with open arms” If one seeks to use negative energy as you say to keep from being taken advantage of, then according to the Law of Reciprocity, they have already been taken advantage of. I have been married 23 years to my beautiful African American Queen and we work as a team. We have been all over the world and back and have raised a worthy son. We made a pact early on, to treat each other with respect, never go to sleep angry and to stay linked together in the face of it all, and most of all never ever let the peanut gallery into our home. That stands true to this day. We great each other with open arms and she or i do not have to be argumentative because she knows how to stroke my mental and I likewise to her. I think most people go to church but do not have the spirit in them, and Henceforth they forget what it means to be a good person. My mother always said, ” you don’t pay for what anyone else does, only for what you do.” Wisdom at the highest. If you have to be mean to a person to get what is needed or to “protect yourself” from disaster then your spirit will suffer in the long run. Take it from a happy 23 year married bro who was blessed by the Almighty Spirit to have a true Soldier. What does you Bible say about love? Nuff said….Hotep

Glad there are !some good relationships & er blk queens in the universe.. But examples the writer has given! can’t be deviated, distorted , denial or deflection.., In the day kids were told “what goes on in the the house stays in the house”… Nowadays like the movie “Precious ” women throw a weave on and put on a show for the world as soon as the camera points their way… Some fools are calling it dirty laundry but in reality it’s individual self-exploitation along with the association those with good development & decent prospects… It’s crabbarreling and ignorant people refuse to see a thug on stage means a stand-your-ground , a stop-n-frisk , a resisting arrest or a self-defense aquital in the streets… ALL the TELEVISED-online black women aguing, fighting and twerking isn’t about women standing up for themselves on any !job! It’s Maury, Judge Joe Brown, Cheaters, Love-n-hip hop, Basketball Wives, Divorce Court, World Star Hip Hop, Sharkeisha, Youtube, Magic City, Blue Flame turn the camera on the usual characters hoe right into script… these are the diva roles examples being emulated by the next group of adult who haven’t even develope stability in career, families or life… ty

Everyone has a story about his or her life a person’s struggles, success, failures and setbacks are comprised in his or her personal story. There is nothing new under the sun it all happened before. On the surface the struggle seems different, but it’s true identity is later revealed…Black Women are Beautiful,Creative,Inspiring,as well as Super Intelligent…So sorry that the writer of this blog, has had some very bad experiences and encounters. However, this inaccurate depliction of Black Women are not who we are…We are Wives,Mothers,Educators and Pillars of our Families and Communities.

Another dumb article depicting Black women as rude, while Black men are ALWAYS depicted as ‘angry’.
When will this self-hate end? Today, I talked to a negroid fe-male, and she was VERY rude, but 10 minutes later, I talked to another REAL Sister, while she was very polite and informative.
We are all INDIVIDUALS, and we must stop putting ALL Black men and women in one barrel. I had to put a cauca-soid fe-male in her place because she was RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL toward me; therefore, Black women are not the only women who act rude.
This racist media NEVER projects cauca-soid females or males as being the RUDE, MURDEROUS, and VISCIOUS snakes on their treatment of ALL Black people…broke or rich! They ‘think’ we are ALL the same, but they are ALL THE SAME; NOT US!
THEY ALL HATE US, and when we realize this Truth, then we will not give a da.m about what they print in their racist papers and media outlets.
Hotep Brother Imhotep!
Speaking of Imhotep, since this is Black OURstory there is a book you must purchase called AFRICANS WERE THE FIRST AMERICANS by David Imhotep. He has documented PROOF that Afrikans were in amerikkka BEFORE the so-called Indian, or columbus, who was lost in India(n). Hence, the name Indian.
Black people must NEVER forget how rude, evil, and dangerous the cauca-soid fe-male was toward us during our forced enslavement. This wench also had slaves…male, female, and children that she controlled.
The caucasoid fe-male is the biggest evil, argumentative devil on this planet, and also the rudest fe-male (dog) in the world toward Black people!!!
DON’T FORGET IT!!!

We must always remember that we are often judged by our worst, not the best. Power, money and ignorance can be problematic is not handled properly. Women have more power and money now than ever before. If you get these things and do not understand how intoxicating they can be, one can find themselves acting out of charactor. If you notice, on the Atlanta housewives, the women are writing checks that their men can’t cash. The men are shuffling along behind the women and being chastised for messing up the money, hanging out in the strip club or not following instructions. “Real Talk” a lot of women now have put on the pants and they like the way it feels. Ike Turner, James Brown and others of that generation have been put out to pasture. The script has flipped and the women are now in a but kicking mood. I know, a hasty generalization

This lady has certainly told the truth about black women. I don’t know what all the uproar is about. Black women are definitely a problem.

Hmmm,
People like you sit behide a computer and talk BIG… But you are very small… small minded and have a small importance to life.
I hope that you find peace, in all the small places you will go.

From my experience working in the city where 90% of my clients were black, most of the black women were very loud and almost scary to be honest. My other white co-worker and myself were frequently intimidated because of the loudness and the swearing as almost a part of there daily speech. I found myself not being able to work there anymore. I live in a well to do society with primarily all whites and I never see this type of swearing and loudness as just a part of daily speech. I don’t want to say 100% of black women act like this but it does seem like the majority do, I’m not quit sure why.

You have to meet every single black woman before you can talk about how annoying ratched b*tches are just likeyou must jump off every single bridge before you can claim that one can die Generalizations are never true or useful. Why not play with tigers? Just because some will kill people doesn’t mean they all will.
Sorry, more of a sarcastic rant on generaling than a response

Black women belong in the jungle. These barbaric apes are not fit for civilization.
