A 38-year-old Idaho man threatened a black neighbor with knives and said he wanted to “cut some n—–,” authorities say.
Christopher Gauthier used the racial slur again after he was in custody, the Idaho Statesman reported.
Gauthier had initially terrorized the children of his Boise neighbor on Friday before he threatened their dad, according to the paper.
The neighbor had put his kids in his car before realizing he left something in his home. When he came back to the car, the children were crying, a prosecutor said in court on Monday, the Statesman reported.
One of the daughters told her father that Gauthier made a “scary face” at the children and swiped the keys from the vehicle. He then allegedly took the keys with him to his own apartment.
Authorities could not get the suspect to open his door, according to the newspaper. When the neighbor pressed him to get his keys back, Gauthier threatened him, the Statesman reported.
Cops later returned and arrested Gauthier. He was charged with malicious harassment and burglary, the Statesman reported.
