The Trump campaign wheeled out a mawkish, maudlin video Friday complete with swelling music fit for “Saving Private Ryan,” in an effort to show he has a lot of support among women.
The video, which was posted on Donald Trump’s Twitter page, appears to be his latest desperate ploy to combat swirling groping allegations.
The video, unironically titled “Trump Women’s Tour,” shows female campaign aides dressed in pink t-shirts donating supplies to a part of North Carolina damaged by flooding.
“There’s a lot of support out there,” insists Trump surrogate Katrina Pierson, standing next to Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump.
“I think it’s actually been growing just by the amount of waves and honks and messages that I’m receiving.”
Elsewhere, the groping allegations were deeply eroding his support, particularly among women.
Polls show his support along women plummeted by as much as 24 points.
The video ends with a statement that they donated 64 pallets of food, clothing and other products, with a paltry $29,000 donated by Trump.
