The reason Mohammad Abdulazeez was able to kill four Marines and injure three other people, one of whom died later, on military bases in Chattanooga, Tennessee last week was because President Barack Obama is too soft on Muslims, according to Tomi Lahren.
The 22-year-old anchor of One America News Network’s “On Point with Tomi Lahren” went into a tirade on Friday’s show accusing Obama of being too gentle on Muslims and claiming that “radical Islam is becoming the rule, not the exception.”
Abdulazees, a 24-year-old Kuwait-born Muslim and graduated from the University of Tennessee of Chattanooga, opened fire at two military bases last Thursday. The former high school wrestler killed four Marines and left three injured before he was killed by police. One of the survivors later succumbed to his injuries.
Sarcastically going through a whole list of things which weren’t related to the Marines deaths, including climate change, lack of free community college, the income gap, wage inequality, gay marriage or racism, Lahren finally declared that it was radical Islam. She added that if President Obama wouldn’t say it, then she would.
Over two million people have since watched Lahren’s verbal attack on Obama.
“I’m sorry, but radical Islam is becoming the rule, not the exception. Yesterday’s moderate is today’s terrorist,” Lahren said. “I care that this SOB killed four of our United States Marines, and I care that our Commander in Chief is more concerned with Muslim sensitivity than the honor and sacrifice made by these Marines.”
Adding that she comes from a family of Marines which is why terrorist attacks on troops are close to her heart, Lahren tells her viewers: “I’ve had it with this failed strategy — this half-way, half-baked, tip-toe, be-friendly-to-Jihadis mentality pushed by this administration.” She adds, “Be a leader, someone.”
“They, the radical Islamists, have brought the fight right here to the red, white and blue, and it’s about time we bring it to them. Full force,” continued the native of South Dakota. “Let’s show them what the United States of America looks like up close and personal!”
Lahren’s tirade was quickly picked up on Twitter, with fellow conservatives congratulating her for speaking out.
“Thank you @TomiLahren for finally saying what needed to be said. Enough is enough. #americaonpoint,” wrote one Twitter user, @RyckiEbert.
However, not all Twitter users were pleased with Lahren’s opinion, some thought she showed too much anti-Muslim sentiments and little care for black Americans.
“I don’t care about your family history. Give facts instead of shocking statement designed to rally people who shop at Walmart,” @Superhawk33 wrote, adding, “furthermore the person who shot the marines was an American. The fact that he was Muslim doesn’t represent all Muslim Americans.”
“Where was your rant when the White guy killed nine Blacks? Oh, right, they’re not important!” @saltyboxer tweeted.
The Daily Mail reports that thousands of right-wing supporters have backed Lahren’s statements and some even suggested that she run for POTUS, although at 22-years-old, she will have to wait another 13 years to do so.
The news source continues that the conservative news anchor has become an overnight internet sensation, when just one year ago, she was a new college graduate from the UNLV, with a world of opportunities at her feet. Now the girl from Rapid City, South Dakota, who is dating a Navy SEAL currently serving in the Middle East, is the anchor of her own show.
Lahren told the Rapid City Journal that she applied to the network as an intern, but after her tour of the station, she went back to the office of Robert Herring where he asked her what she wanted to do.
“I told him I would literally ‘do whatever,’” said Lahren, adding that she just wanted an opportunity. To her surprise, Herring asked her, “How about your own show?”
“I’m not trying to be the younger, blonder version of anyone,” Lahren said to those who might think she’s just another blonde bimbo. “I’m trying to be Tomi.”
